What you'll need:
+Notebook (I bought my large ones here, and my pocket ones here)
+ Plate
+ Sharpie
+ Pencil
DIY Flag Notebook
/1/ Start by placing your plate on the notebook.

/2/ Following the curve of the plate, draw a line. ( I did three, each a slightly different angle)

/3/ Next you'll need to cut the eraser of your pencil into a triangle. I used a plain old (sharp) knife because I could not find my exacto knife anywhere.

/4/ Using the newly converted pencil, stamp the flags about the same distance apart.

I ended up covering the half of the blue ones up with silver so it could be two toned.

/6/ Wait for them to dry, and write on the front if you so wish.

VARIATION
You'll need:
+Notebook (I bought my large ones here, and my pocket ones here)
+ Plate
+ Chalk
+ Pencil
+ Chalkboard paint (I made my own using the directions here)
DIY Chalkboard Flag Notebook
\1\ Cover the front of the notebook (and the back, if you wish) with chalkboard paint. Make sure all your strokes are going the same direction.

\2\ I used chalk to draw the lines on so that they'll show up.
\3\ Follow directions 3 & 4 above to finish.
DIY Chalkboard Flag Notebook
I used chalk to hand letter the words on the front.
The nice thing is, if you ever get tired of what it says, just erase it and write something new!
